Spring is Here! And so are the allergies, UGH!

Cardinal and his little lady
Spring is here!  Even before the weather started getting better and the flowers were blooming I was getting harassed by this little cardinal.  We had a bird feeder last year and alot of birds came to dine.  I guess, this cardinal remembered.  Every morning, for the past five days, he would sit on the fence and squawk at the window.  He wouldn't do a pretty sing song type of sound but like a hey, hey, hey, where's the food sound.   We had left over bird food from last summer.  All that we should have to do is fill the feeder, right.  Oh, if it were just that easy.  But, alas, it is not.  Right before the Fall season started Chris took down the hummingbird feeder and the birdseed feeder.  He only emptied the hummingbird one.  Leaving the birdseed feeder to get wet and start to mold.  So when I decided to fill it, I found it in an disgusting state.  It took me three days to get the nerve to clean it.  It smelled so bad and my germaphobic side thought it easier just to buy a new one.  But the frugal (some would say tightwad) side of me said this is still usable.  So I decided to get to work and clean it out.  It was gross and I had to use a wooden spoon to be able to get all the gunk out.  Wooden spoon is now safe in trash.   I scrubbed it good and put food in it.  Hung it up next to the hummingbird feeder and waited.  We did not have to wait long before the cardinal was back with his lady.  They are so cute.  We haven't had any hummingbirds yet but I know they will come back.

Spring came in full force this year.  Our car that is painted silver is a dull yellow due to the pollen in the air.  We have been fighting headaches, sinus pain, sneezing, and the sniffles.  I am not used to having allergy issues so this is new to me.  And I am tired of it. So is Lilu.  Poor baby.  The view when you get away from the trees is so grand.  The clouds are majestic and feel like you can just reach out and touch them.  And during rainstorms it feels like you are actually in the clouds themselves.  Everything is getting a bright green and it feels so good to be out in the sun.  Now if the allergies would just go away.

I've heard if you buy some local raw honey and take a teaspoon full before allergy season starts, it's supposed to make you immune against those pollen flying around. I haven't tried it yet, so. I love the luscious green. I miss it so much. All we get to see here is brown, but at least we have mountains. Oh I wanted to let you know, that Winona is a perfectionist as well, but she has been getting better about it. She is not getting frustrated so easy anymore.
