We have been working hard trying to get back to a semi schedule. A sort of routine type a thing. Little Bit does like somewhat of a routine, but with a lot of flexibility. So after a month of soaking up Daddy time and traveling to visit with family we needed to get back into the swing of things. This will help both of us with the waiting of his return. "LB" has been doing a great job with school. She does get easily frustrated when she realizes she didn't get it right the first time. Which I hope she will outgrow. She is somewhat of a perfectionist. Like her Daddy. Which means trouble if she can't let that go. Trouble for me. She is excited because Phonics will end soon and she does not like phonics. I think she is bored with it. And the english language has some funny rules. Once we are through with phonics we go straight into grammar. I am so excited about this, too. Then we add Spanish!! I am really excited about this. LB was a little skeptical about this but I think she has grown into it and is as excited about it as I am. Monday through Thursday are lessons and Fridays are usually test days. Some would say that is a horrible way to end the week. But she does excellent on her tests. And she knows that when it is test day it also Late Night with either premier shows or a movie. These pics are of her doing phonics. I think it is so cute that LB twirls her hair when she works. When she is really thinking hard she purses her lips. So cute. I really do love being her teacher. It was a hard adjustment for both of us. But I do love our bubble. Our safe place where she can ask any question without fear of ridicule. Where she can go at her own pace and really let it soak in. In this bubble she won't learn the beliefs of another family and then question ours. She won't hear hurtful words day in and day out. I remember elementary school. I have a few good memories but I have alot of bad ones that are so etched in my memory that it feels like yesterday when I think of them. Kids can be mean. And kids nowadays are far worse than when I was little. People have been concerned with her social skills being homeschooled. But I believe in protecting our young and keeping the innocence. She has a wonderful imagination and uses it. I am so blessed to be able to spend as much time with her as I do. God has blessed me with her and I am so happy to have the job He has given me.

I always find it interesting that people are so concerned about the social skills of home schooled kids. I think Winona has more friends now than she ever had being in public school. And the friends she has now are the friends I would like her to have, with good values. I really like that she doesn't care so much about what the world thinks. She has her own opinion about everything and she won't let anybody tell her what to do. I totally agree with you on the protecting our young and keeping heir innocence. The pictures are super cute!
